the Director acknowledged it was a mistake, that he put it front and center and people immediately chekhov's gunned it as it being important to the plot when it wasn't. So the Director did it again to be funny during the Warp intervallo and now we got the random passenger as well.

Charge isn't THAT bad but it is the weakest status. They're trying to make it a status that starts worse than others but ramps up better in long fights. The problem with that is threefold:
1) Every Charge unit has to micromanage their own stacks unlike Burn, Bleed, Tremor, Sinking, or Rupture where the team applies their own share of it onto one boss. Poise is similar, but its Potency/Count gain per turn is way more generous than Charge and you're not spending your entire stack every S3 unless you're BL Faust.
2) EVERY status naturally ramps up over time, and your payoff for stacking Charge Potency is still worse than statuses that can start shitting out damage immediately like Burn, Poise, and Rupture.
3) There are currently only 3-4 fights in the game long enough to even attempt using Charge at its maximum potential so it's a brick in 90% of content.

They need to double down on Charge being the marathon fight status and introduce more IDs that passively heal/shield once your Charge is high enough like REPshu. W Corp is the only team that can really do this outside of EGO spam and they're outdated.
