Because the entire premise of the game is that The Entity is feeding off of people's suffering and life force which hooking them allows it to do so. You as a killer are sacrificing people over and over until they are basically a shell of their former self and then The Entity will eventually just kill them. Your reward for doing so is getting to kill people over and over and over again and enjoy the thrill of the hunt and murder which is why some killers willingly join The Entity's fun house rather than getting randomly nabbed. It's why when you Mori someone you get "Entity Displeased".

TCM is what happens when you can just knife someone and matches are over in like two minutes, or F13 where matches can be over very quickly if Jason just teleports to you and shanks you leading to blistering paces of games. The only game I can think of where you just attack people and it's not like that is TED where games can last like 20 minutes but people can be revived and are beyond tanky.
