Yes, indeed. On the one hand, the partition of the US would not be as bad as many people depict it. On the other hand, the United States would (temporarily) be absolutely CRIPPLED after losing the two ports of Southern California (look it up) and simultaneously losing the Northeast Megaregion (look it up, everything from Boston, Massachusetts down to Washington, D.C., picrel)

Until it could construct new ports on the pacific and transfer capital from the highly liberal and incompetent independent East Coast republic it would suffer greatly but gradually recover. In the short term, people would say that California and the East Coast Republic would be the new future and that the rump state America was doomed, but in the long term, the secessionist states would rot until they were hellish.
