They keep making higher quality He-Man and Ninja Turtles toys for adults. They are still making Transformers movies..also "for adults" while every superhero has a movie and three more coming out later on. Disney made live action remakes of all their animated content for the adults to spend more money on.

Modern entertainment and manufacturing is wrapped around maintaining a high population of arrested development weirdos to sell the nostalgia forever. Whereas before it was publicly considered an embarrassment for anyone older than 12 to have a cartoon t-shirt, and they were browbeat by modern culture to quit watching kids shit and get into adult shows/movies. Right now all the adult movies are fucking comic book characters and live action remakes of Disney cartoons.
