I believe the more you stray away from the beer and pretzels "DnD" game with a simple set of adventurers (a martial, a wizard and a rogue) against simples enemies (evil lich, demon king), the less interest it will attract.
While I'm not trying to make a commercial product or have some grandiose fantasy of becoming the next Gygax, if I just wanted to daydream about giant fantasy knights I could do so instead of putting an effort into worldbuilding and a system for playing it. I'd rather make something that would at least catch the attention of my friends.

That's what I was, unfortunately, thinking as well.
Not the righteous might turning knights/paladins giant though, that's actually a nice idea.
