Since last thread I've been thinking about how to restructure the manga's formula. If we're going off of a 9 chapter volume, here's how I think the story should be written to spice it up nicely, taking into account the growing cast.
>Ch 1+2: new gf introduction
The current zing chapters feel repetitive because they don't have much breathing room for anything past the current structure. Rentarou meets them, they do their gimmick, and then they agree to date. Some of the best new zing chapters in my opinion were Shizuka's, Nano's, and Mimimi's, and they were all two chapters (Shizuka's was one chapter but it was 40 pages instead of the regular 20 so I count it). This gives the new gf more room to present who she really is by having a conflict that she and Rentarou can solve together, or by Rentarou challenging her to win her over, or any other conflict that could involve the gf. 1-2 other gfs could also pop up as supporting cast.
>Ch 3: family introduction
The family does the new gf's gimmick chapter. This will be the one guaranteed chapter that will have the full cast.
>Ch 4-5 or 6: story arc with Rentarou, new gf, and 2-4 other gfs
My idea with this is to return the feeling that the early chapters had with the initial cast of five. The small group is perfect for establishing chemistry among a small subset of the cast and gives each gf involved better focus than the regular chapters where all they do is say their catchphrase in the background. Think something like the indoor swimming park arc.
>Ch 6 or 7: gf pair
This is the designated odd couple gf pair chapter, cover pair or otherwise.
>Ch 7, 8, 9: any of the other chapter types
These can be daily's, single gf focused chapters, returning gimmick chapters (these will appear less often), another multi-ch arc possibly, etc.
My goal overall was to combat the growing cast bloat. You'll technically see each gf less often but when they show up they'll do more than give a single one liner.
