Britain, Germany and France want to deploy their troops on the territory of Ukraine as part of the settlement of the military conflict with Russia. This was announced on Tuesday, August 19, by US President Donald Trump.
According to the head of state, European countries are "going to be proactive" in providing security guarantees to the Ukrainian side. He added that there should be no problems with Russia in this regard. The President also expressed hope that his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin would "be good" and would not hinder the achievement of peace.

Macron called the Russian dictator a "predator" and a "cannibal at the door of Europe"
The French president warned that Russia has become a constant source of destabilization and a long-term threat to Europe.
Macron stressed that Moscow invests 40% of the budget in military spending and has mobilized an army of over 1.3 million people, so "it will not return to peace and democracy in one day."
"For his own survival, Putin needs to continue absorbing - this is a predator, this is a man-eater at our door. I'm not saying that France will be attacked tomorrow, but this is a real threat to the whole of Europe," he said, urging Europeans "not to be naive."
Macron also noted that he does not share Trump's optimism about a possible peace agreement.
"When I look at the facts, I don't see that President Putin wants peace now. Maybe I'm being too pessimistic," he said.
