I think you both are wrong
A Pro-Immigration should demand that the individuals that enter the country should vetted properly and such immigration doesn't affect the living standards of citizens of such country.
An Anti Immigration person will demand unchecked illegal immigration, so the country gets destroyed.
Immigration wasnt an issue in the past because there wasnt a shit ton of illegals committing rape and violent crimes in that scale, in 60's, 70's, 80's, etc.
Even Immigration in Venezuela wasnt a big issue during the good days because the majority of the issues were from the common venezuelan and not euro immigrants.
We dont really have middle east or indian immigrants.
So allowing unchecked immigration from Middle East, from bottom barrel individuals that want to enforce Sharia Law into a western society is petty much a bad mix
