It's actually more fun as full horizontal f2p, because you actually get to experience some challenge to clear endgame (it's still gets trivial with time, but not autobattle-worthy trivial).

Just don't get baited into skipping everything for hyped eidolons as f2p/monthly, try things instead of using a guide, pulls are plenty to roll something every patch

Would you like a faction/relation-based team gatekeeps like in ZZZ? I think it might be better than them constantly trying invent some weird anti-synergies all the time which sometimes results in some really weird skills and balance choices, like with cerydra's narrow kit.

It would kill any old characters that are reliant on the "faction" buff thoughbeit, so there is always a downside. And updating old factions with new pure filler characters would feel retarded (imagine they've introduced a filler made-up stellaron hunter to buff kafka instead of black swan)
