I'm giving this game another go due to recent events and I really am failing to see the appeal. Think about super metroid right. You can beat it in maybe around 7-10 hours your first go around, there's little fluff and filler and it's over. Every room serves a purpose and has some kind of gimmick, if you've played super metroid before I'm sure you can already picture some of those rooms or even map out their zones in your mind. Can you do that for hollow knight? I can't and i'm not even maybe a quarter into the game I think? I can dash and wall jump. Why did I need to go through like a hundred samey rooms to get those? I'm running through a fucking maze with no map fighting the same enemies over and over, KNOWING I need the double jump because the terrain is designed so obviously. Then it's just a random unceremonious pick up on the floor? Dude in super metroid you practically find the wall jump by accident, then you get taught it in an awesome way by the environment. Like you're going to tell me hollow knight is better than that? What?
