Have you tried painting models?

I jest. I'm not as good as the 3 lads mentioned but it's basically building good habits, setting aside consistent time to paint, learning new techniques over time, tackling different projects to expand your skills and colors, and not being afraid to try new things. Some painters will get stuck in a loop of only painting one way and not trying to improve. Try and increase your skill tree over time. To get to their level you probably need to paint 5+ armies or find yourself in the 1000+ mini range.
