Brazil has had race mixing for so long that the genes are all spread out and two brownish parents who had recessive white genes can end up having a white-looking child if the child inherits those specific genes, but they can also pass on a bunch of Indian and African genes that aren't as visible too.

It's different if you're the first descendant of two parents of different 100% heritages because you're almost guaranteed to get half from each so you're almost certainly getting the brown eyes/skin/hair from the brown parent
