I don't think the gold standard for a mech game is to cuck out and say the mechs aren't any good. That is what we're there for.

That's not even fully correct anyway. Mechs are super cheap in heavy gear and easily outnumber tanks. Tanks beat them in a shooting gallery, but mechs can easily encircle them, especially in places like urban environments where they can climb. Striders and other hugemechs are also massively upgunned compared to the votoms sort and can blast tanks to bits.
