The command module would have never made it through the magnetosphere. First of all, the command module wasn't even shielded against radiation. It was an aluminum capsule that a few seconds worth of exposure in the Van Allen belt region would have liquified your dna. It is insane to think that aluminum can even protect against such levels of radiation. Even then, gamma radiation is not enough to shield against in just an aluminum capsule, which is why you need lead or concrete reinforcement to even survive that far out of earth. To think that humans and the sensitive Hasselblad camera equipment could even survive cosmic radiation without it being ruined, is fucking RETARDED.
