As far as his treatment on the franchise goes, he has it better. He has slightly more focus in Buu saga than Goten, Gotenks is mostly him, he's Wrath of the Dragon's protagonist, is the traveling companion in GT (Even if he's largely irrelevant there), was used for more jokes in BoG, and had some character development in Black's arc. Goten is basically his tagalong fusion fodder.

DBS Trunks has the Solar Flare he used in Black's arc, Black himself has a move he used it in too. They don't do it that much, but manga moves do make it in Sparking Zero (Although some cases just wouldn't be an option, like Kale in base form, since her personality in both versions is too different).
