They actually found the original ashes from the second temple period a couple of years back.
They simply do not need new ashes.

Ron Wyatt found the Temple furniture that was hidden before the Babylonian captivity and it is still in Jerusalem in Hezekiah's tunnels (yes, tunnels). The priests and Sanhedrin claim to be able to set up an altar in hours, and a temple in weeks.
All of it for the benefit of Satan, because they still reject Jesus, but they will still do it soon enough.
