I’m sure there is a rough correlation to the ability to talk rationally and peaceably accept differing opinions to IQ, but I’ve listened to more than a few people who, while intelligent on paper, have no compunction about calling for violence on those they oppose. I’m sure that’s more hubris than anything which, like you said, would track with most people treating talk as an extension of ego.
