That's an issue with cultivation novels, sure. 90% of all of them have a sociopath MC only there for revenge against the kids that laughed at him once in the playgrounds, and after he kills the kids he kills the parents too, and after he kills the parents the grandparents are angy so he kills them too.

It's rather fascinating in that it seems Cultivation novels unearthed a huge market of subhumans who just want to read stories about killing all the people who laughed at you in kindergarten and then raping two or three women, for their own good.

Not sure what that tells us about China given there is a huge western subhumans audience.
