A person's "personality" is determined by a number of factors, but in the final analysis, social, economic, genetic, and other such factors all play significant roles in forming the 'self.' Consider that everything you've done in life: every decision, every success, every failure, every thought, EVERYTHING, no matter how great or minute, led to who/what you are right this moment. Had any of that been different (for example, you had the chicken dinner at the AFJROTC Ball in 2004 instead of the steak), you could be vastly different from where/who you are today. No point in wishing you could change any of that, as you'd likely be unable to recognize that person.
