ROUND I
WHICH TREATS OF THE INEVITABLE RETURN OF THE FAMOUS FIXER DON QUIXOTE OF LA MANCHALAND TO QUEEN OF /v/
It would be roughly a year since the prior adventure and jovial pursuit of one Don Quixote in the Queen of /v/ competition had come to a climactic end, if not one marked by brevity. Triumphing over one fairy only for yet another to misalign her path, our good lady was defeated, but her spirit did not for a moment falter.
Having heard that the winner of last year's competition was a fellow dreamer, Don Quixote was filled with a sort of beguiling, if ill-informed enthusiasm as she set off in renewed hopes and regal aspiration. She did happen upon the same lot as the prior year, who perhaps seemed a bit more unshaven and grayer, but were by all means the same faithful crowd of Anons whom had heralded her first quest for the unreachable star. Don Quixote called to them, a heroic call to arms.
"Ho, my faithful companions! Tis such the occasion that I, Don Quixote, am honored to carry the banner of Limbus Company in this competition! Will thee gallop alongside mine steed, and continue our unending dream?"
The gathered Anons did cheer, and rightly fell in with their beloved Fixer and Knight.
"Heroic Don Quixote!" One cried out, as our heroine beamed with pride.
"Brave Don Quixote, the Fixer of Legend!" Another echoed, as the Lady of La Manchaland puffed out her chest.
"Motherly Don Quixote, our beloved youthful hag!" Which did produce a grimace from the lady, but not quite any voice of protest.
