>Women’s pro-wrestling “Marigold’s” MIRAI (25) is burning with determination for a comeback.

>...MIRAI currently stands at 1 win, 2 losses, and 1 draw with 3 points, with 3 official matches remaining. She is in a do-or-die situation where dropping even a single point would eliminate her from finals contention. But MIRAI declared, “If I win all my matches from here, there’s still a chance, so I absolutely cannot lose. Of course, I want results, and it feels like the voices demanding results from me are at their loudest right now. Up to now I’ve shed nothing but tears of frustration with those supporting me, so this time I want to win the championship and finally smile together with everyone.”

>Last year, she lost to Aono Miku in the inaugural United National Championship tournament, failing to capture the title. At the Yoyogi event this May, she challenged World Champion Hayashishita Utami, but after a fierce battle, fell short again. Since Marigold’s launch, MIRAI has yet to claim singles gold. “I feel like I’ve been left behind in so many ways. But compared to when I was getting results, it’s not like I’ve been neglecting anything, nor is there anything I’ve suddenly become unable to do. So I keep wondering why the results won’t come. Still, I knew if I gave up here I’d never reach the results I’ve been pursuing, so I fired myself up and kept fighting,” she reflected.
