Sort of. I think he would obviously agree that the labels have meaning, just that he would not describe their causation as the same.
But I also think his qualifications to speak on it are limited, given his personal life, and such people often think 'conversion' is a process that should center on sex rather than a broader life experience, and focus on what is possibly the least relevant aspects, the actual 'sodomy'.
There is a guy who used to do conversion who was halfway to understanding this. He understood that homosexual self identity isnt really about sex. But he still viewed the sex as the metric for conversion. Perhaps thats just because thats how you have to communicate the focal point to almost everyone who thinks homosexual lifestyles are problematic, either for the individual or society. But its a red herring. Sodomy is common in heteros and it is not a problem for them either. However compulsive fixation on the act over other concerns is problematic. No one is trying to convert heteros from sodomy though; they were the first to mainstream it and fifty other transgressive sexual practices. They would view their problem as promiscuity and then just shrug at it.
Nicolosi, I think his name was, ran an organization called Narth. He wasnt the hater gays had to insist he was. But he was a pretty divisive figure, and sort of had to be.
Thats my problem with conversion. Its not that I think people shouldnt have help to make changes in life. I just think its ridiculous and clinically dangerous to try to convince someone that they should not like what people naturally like. You can add, but you cant subtract.
And besides, culturally, straights really fucking need to clean up their own backyard before lecturing everyone else on what is moral. I mean, the absolute state of straight standards ffs.
