>watson, DNA man, dies
>reddit:
>he was impoverished because he was a racist and sexist
>he should know, because he looked at DNA, that we're all one race, the human race
>IQ isa pseudoscience!
>african IQ is low because of other reasons!
>IQ only correlates to intelligence!
>yes, genetics causes intelligence, yes genetics is inheritable, no, race cannot affect intelligence!
(getting a bit eugenicsy on that one)
>it's because africans aren't going to good schools!
>it's because IQ tests are done in English and not african languages!
(it could also be because they know bugger all down there because their societies are terrible and are why we don't emigrate to wakanda and they come here, but even this is controversial to admit)
>he stole his results, women are the trve scientists, fuck da patriarchy!
>the difference between people, in a race, are larger than the differences between different races
>the difference between students, in a school, is larger than the difference between good schools and bad schools
(this is a weird piece of rhetoric I've seen, only attributed to genetic racial variance, and I have no idea where it originates, it's like something only pseuds say because they saw a bigger pseud saying it)
>if you discover something that's "explosive", no good will come from it, so you should abandon it, no matter how right it is
Personally I don't care. I've seen enough stupid and smart from different groups and ultimately the belief in a difference is a description of society's in-group out-group choice and knowing scientifically won't fix society.
I would much rather an attack on the Nobel Prize itself given its origin and use, but then again I'm more left wing than any redditor or scientist and dislike rich people patting themselves on the back at award ceremonies.
I'm not shocked that a scientist, who was seemingly in prestigious work for a long time during and after his controversial statements, had no money. The job role was scientist, not banker.
