Not anymore. I had a phase when I was very young.
I liked white gold. But I dont really think of gold that way anymore, I have become very dull, Im afraid, having lost interest in so much. When I babble about gold here now, I am just thinking of it as a compact fireproof way to hold value in a very low visibility item that can be held or transferred without a paper trail for the government to find and doesnt have to be backed by some shit central bank.
Im sorry. I told you I have become boring. I cant help it. Its all depressing.
Anyways, gold isnt really as rare as people tend to imagine. Most of the gold in the world is used in India for jewelry, oddly. Platinum is much more rare, but it isnt as marketable. The whole physical precious metal hustle is just a collectibles racket like antiques, coins, baseball cards, that sort of thing. Its all based on idiotic sales pitches, a bulllshit story that goes with the sale.
Contrary to popular belief, physical gold is not good for investment and useless in SHTF situations. Its basically just a way to hide value and thats about it. Investing in gold is like stocks in mining companies and such, not actually physically owning it.
