I have an Oster Imperial blender from the 1960s. Picture related, from google. A former girlfriend asked how long it had been in the family. I said I picked it up at a yard sale a few years ago for a dollar. She gave me this look of horror and disgust.

>You are using a used blender?!
>Well, yeah. I cleaned it first.
>You can't get those clean. There's always going to be stuff in the tines and the base.
>Oh, I replaced those. They were super dull. The modern ones still fit older machines.
>What? How?

It was at this point I discovered that her family did not know you could unscrew the bottom of the jars for cleaning. They would just rinse them out as best they could after every use. It was my turn to give her a look of disgust and horror.
