Sorry I also forgot Turkey - which also sells sanctioned Western goods to Russia in addition to buying lots of Russian hydrocarbons as well as laundering this to sell to Europe again. Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are both also involved in laundering sanctioned Russian hydrocarbons to the European market.

>Russia losing is a win for the West.
And what do you do when half of the West is helping their enemy win whilst complaining that the other half isn't trying hard enough to stop them from their sabotage?
I think the change of tack from Washington was inevitable and it's quite funny how dumbstruck Europeans have become at being caught in the headlights. Remember those 'bone crushing' sanctions that the Senate wanted to introduce? They would apply to the EU too.
I'm not that pessimistic about the defence of Ukraine and I like that Europe is finally increasing military spending after being dragged into it after years of war on their doorstep. But if Ukraine falls, heads should roll (metaphorically, GCHQ) in every EU government that not just allowed it to happen - but paid for it to happen.
