There used to be desktops issued as primary and laptop on demand. Now everyone only get laptops.

Don't use company laptop for personal stuff. You can get locked out without a warning and they typically have microsoft online account managed by your organization, disabled USB & RDP etc.

I'm not sure if it would fit with "ITX tax" but you could probably assemble compact desktop that fits in backpack, together with keyboard and "mobile" LCD monitor.

This way if you have to move, you have very mobile company laptop and somewhat mobile personal desktop setup.

I am only suggesting this if "moving often" is even a factor. From every perspective but aesthetics & portability, it is always better to just assemble full-sized ATX/mATX system. It would always be cheaper than ITX.
