I don't know. I've never played any other gacha and it doesn't really matter. Nikke has already established the precedent of releasing playable characters that are either canonically dead or are no longer in the story in a give form (Think Red Hood, SBS, smol white, old rapu, etc.) The gameplay already strays from the presented story since you can bring nikkes to fight battles who don't actually show up in the associated story sections and if the concern is that players won't shell out for characters with no future in the story, that is already addressed by just writing flashback/prequel stories like Overzone, Red Ash, etc. So I fail to see the hesitancy
