I got 383/386 mons on my fire red entirely solo back in the day. I was missing mew, deoxys, and celebi.
I had the colosseum bonus disc. 2 gameboys, and the shitty gc link cable.
I really liked colosseum, but even when I had incredible patience and loved watching all the animations, and listening to all the great music....

It was really cool initially, but wow, it got painful when you had to 100% purify. It took so many battles in mount battle.
Then you had to beat 100 battles in the special mount battle with your in game team (which, lol, you would just trade from your gba game). By wave 30 you were enjoying everything, but it was a slow experience that grated more and more.
Catching the mons during fights was very difficult at times because you are fighting rng by chucking 40+ balls at a tough mon while they get endless attacks on you. I have mixed feeling about that, rng is rng.
I loved all the set pieces and the story was the best pokemon has to offer.
