Yeah. Basically every time I buy a pistol. The time it hasn't happened is with my Ruger mkIV. Nowadays, I keep a list of guns I want. I put something on there and then wait 8 months or so. If I still want it at that point, I'll actually budget for it and then buy it in another month or so.
There's an old joke about balkan proverbs. "If you ever feel the urge to work, sit down and wait, the feeling will pass." I've basically applied that to buying non-essentials. It gives time for passing wants and infatuations to fade out. Also gives me more time to sit with and enjoy the things I already own instead of just getting back on a treadmill of seeking novelty for novelty's sake.
