Another thing to consider is that the farther away from Earth you get, the wider the area is. The constellation can be covered by your hand when you look at the sky, but at the distance of the galactic center, the Sagittarius contellation would be over 20,000 light-years in width. Considering that's also the densest part of the galaxy, plus there's a whole other half of the galaxy on the other side, it shouldn't be surprising that stuff would come from that general direction.

And don't get me started on the Wow signal
