That being said, there is the caution of oversexualizing things as well. So to give an anectdote, I spoke with some female friends and such who've read the drafts in the past, about my editor's comments, and while they generally agreed with the direction, they also urged restraint because they really like Alice. And this is a comment I got from male readers as well. She's really likeable, and a lot of that comes down to how innocent and pure she comes across. My female friends basically said, "look there's also a lot of female readers who enjoy shounen manga, so you don't want to drive them away, by making them feel uncomfortable by pushing it too far either. A little is fine, but don't go overboard."
I sent a lot of these images and thoughts to my editor, to try and find out where that line lies. I think he's likely to tell me to dial it back a bit, because sex can also be a double edged sword. For example, if younger readers can't read the manga, because it's too sexualized.

The reason Alice became the MC is because the male protagonist is a werewolf, and the setting is a fantasy setting. Which means priority no.1 is establishng the high concept and how cool it is in a very clear way. Which in this case is "Doctors fighting Eldritch Dream monsters." This is extremely difficult to do if the MC stands as a paradox to the concept, being both a Monster and a Human. It sounds easy to pull off on paper, but when you actually start to try and do it, becomes infinitely more complicated.
