Iran aimed to win the war by swarming Israel with its proxies (AoR) and missiles/drones. However, Israel managed to decapitate the command structure of said proxies, thus crippling them. This means that Israel can now bring the war directly to Iran. Given the superior intelligence and military capabilities, even Iran's long-range options could now be neutralized preemptively.
