The problem isn't the "gacha" aspect that /v/ loves to harp on about, they'd need to have an actually fun and responsive gameplay loop, genshin is the closest thing we have with its element based combat and massive world to explore but by virtue of it being a gacha game all its other aspects ruin it
>quests exist only to sell you the character, once you complete it you forget about their existence
>endgame modes that ultimately start to favor paying players only, removing the tiny bit of fun you had building characters
>equipment slop that you mentioned, to keep you returning everyday
>time limited events that push fomo
We unironically need another "genshin" that revitalizes the genre again, it showed is that gacha isn't just about collecting pngs
