You only get one entire spell so it's not that interesting. It's kind of amusing with a shield but didn't last long when I tried it (Salii meme)
It would probably be fine with one of those catalyst/wand type mods but that's not really different from just your hand. Also pistols are still staves for some reason, that probably counts
