HOA are Satan and you should NEVER buy into any place which has one.
I loaned soem money to an old friend fallen on hard times due to bi-polar and he failed to repay me right away as he pledged to do. Life did its thing and I fell short on a few obligation and didn;t pay a condo fee for three months.. Nowhere did I read of any adverse actions for late fees other than an addition fine of $30 per lat payment and interest but then I was sent a letter from a law firm saying within seven days if they did not receive the full back due plus additional fees and lawyer costs they would seek a judgement in court to seize my condo worth over $200,000 for what amounts to around $900.00.
I was given the money by a company I work with and paid the vampires blood money which earned them my everlasting hatred. The HOA fee has more than tripled in the 24 years I've lived here and the cheap fee was one of the reasons I ever bought it in the first place.
