You want to know how to write a cool female character? You make them pretty AND you make them cool, and you make them do cool or nice things.

Rosa from Umineko when she's fighting for her life and all her might to save Maria. If you ignore everything else she does before that, that's a beautiful character right there.
Rin when she's fighting Sakura in front of the Grail and lets her win after overpowering her just because she understood how unfair life had been to her, beautiful sister archetype.
But nooooo... Rose DeWitt from Titanic or Rey from Star Wars, that's what western writers shit out.
