Gold used to be used to buy regular shit purely because it didn't tarnish/rust/degrade. You could store coinage and generations later it wouldn't be a pile of tarnished crap.
It IS attractive for ornaments, and it does have industrial uses like copper, but it's current value is based on it being Precursor Crypto.

The richest people have most of their money working to generate more money for themselves.
That's why they can afford to be taxed at a heavy rate. Poor and middle class are trying to eat and pay the bills with most all of their income. The rich are buying equity, investing in property and other bullshit in an attempt to scale the loftiest rungs of the wealth ladder.

All tax relief does is boost their Ebin Gains, and turns a few more millionaires into billionaires, to the benefit of no one but the billionaires.
