It's because this specific version of Nezha is a Bart Simpson-like gremlin that most people find comical rather than cute. His bishie twink version from the same movie has a lot of art.
It also didn't help that the movie flopped in the west and that another animated movie released on the same year had a version of Nezha with a much prettier art style.
