This. The Boo hunting is such an artificial complaint.
Catch the Boo as soon as you turn the lights on in each room 25 times and it's a non issue. It should just be habit.

Imagine getting an entire tutorial for Boos and saying "I wont engage with this mechanic" and then being pissy when the game asks if you've engaged with that mechanic.
