Christianity is just a very minor sect of a minority group. It has no benefit to offer and was actually often led to danger because its dogma of rejecting false gods made them a target of blame whenever famine and plague ravaged the land. In fact, the very idea of them not bowing to the statue of the Emperor is seen as absurd and borderline rebellious.

Fire all your assumptions, all you wish.
