If it was the evil sanctions all along, then how come the economy was on a state of free fall from 2010 and, despite the ongoing sanctions and the current Trump administration, there has been somewhat significant recovery in 2025 due to certain policy changes?
I thought the sanctions would have prevented that since they were the objective cause of Venezuela's disaster and not government mismanagement?
The real sanctions started in 2017, as blocking private transactions with private subjects is a diplomatic move, not an economic sanction against public industries.
