True... if the fight isn't too scary in terms of damage, the extra cards go kind of wasted unless you mindlessly throw them out anyway.

DRG is a pretty good comparison, at least when I played it last with it's "spammier" burst in EW. I think you'd really enjoy AST if you ever took it into savage, it's more or less as you said which is why AST is closer to becoming my favorite.
