Did you know that fruit flies have the longest sperm length of any known animal? This is in absolute terms - relative to their size it's completely insane. Some species have sperm cells that are an order of magnitude longer than their entire body. The gigantic sperm has an advantage because it can remain in the mate's body for much longer. A single orgasm can keep the mate immersed in gigantic sperm for hours.
