I don't know anon, at this point I wonder if Owlcat changes were for the better, minus a few bullet points here and there. WOTR sucks to DM and sucks to play, and it's by far one of the worst APs in 1e, losing only to stuff like that Pirate AP and the first version of the Runelords AP. Plot is somehow more shallow than the game we got, and most of the stuff is barely connected between books. Most of the lore heavy stuff (The healing of Sarkoris, the redemption of Noticula, Galfrey ascension into becoming a Herald) all happens offscreen or in other AP (Tyrant Grasp, Return of the Runelords)
I think Owlcat picked those adventures because they were quite shite to play, and had some cool mechanics they could sprinkle in
