The right hairstyle goes a long way I find. When I played one I really liked a couple of the racial styles, they have a real natural look, and there's a few others that work great too
Colour choices are extra important too, you can get really dramatic or intense highlighting their eyes with a vivid contrasting colour, or go for a softer, harmonised scheme like earthy greens and light brown hair
Hell just find one colour part that you really like and build up from there!
