Ema Maishima is from Osaka and has been good at sports since she was little, but she never joined any clubs.

>"I never really played any sports. I was always a club member who went home to school in both junior high and high school. I was an indoor person and liked watching pro wrestling and reading manga at home, so I would go home as soon as classes were over. It's not that I didn't have friends (laughs), but most of my friends were in clubs, so I'd go out and play on the weekends."

The word "pro wrestling" immediately came up.

>"I first saw DRAGONGATE on TV when I was in the fifth grade of elementary school. At the time, there were hardly any people around me who watched professional wrestling. The ones who made the biggest impression on me were Dragon Kid and Eita. At first, I fell in love with Kid because of his incredible movements and aerial techniques, but gradually I was drawn to Eita's "bad-man" side and started to think he was cool. The first venue I went to was the Edion Arena 2 where DRAGONGATE was held. When I wrestled there, everyone was like, "Wow!" (laughs). After that, I started watching New Japan, and I think it was around high school that I started watching Stardom as well. At first, I would often watch recent Stardom matches on YouTube. AZM and Rina made an impression on me at the time. I thought the flexibility of women's professional wrestling was incredible. If the men were dynamic, the women were graceful and beautiful."
