I've been there. This is why you need to shit out a bare bones prototype (no art, no polish, just pure core gameplay) as fast as possible. The most important part of the game dev process (at least to me) is when you test the game and realize it's actually fun. Once you get there the ideas start coming like crazy and you start finding all sorts of cool ways to expand upon the idea and flesh out the game. The longer you keep the game as just an idea in your head the more time you give your brain to second guess itself.
