I just re-watched Come and See and it got me wondering..
In post-soviet Russia, how and what are the people taught about the great patriotic war? In American history the only event even approaching the scale and barbarity of the eastern front is our wars with the indigenous, and this being so far in the past has allowed our nation mostly to shrug this off so to speak (despite the best efforts of political opportunists).
How does one tackle trying to reconcile with this gargantuan atrocity as a people?
