"Selling well" is the exception rather than the norm for ZZZ characters, I don't think it can be used as a criteria to judge the popularity of most characters
I personally am fond of Trigger because she's wearing a mask, and I've spent years lamenting the fact that most asian companies never dare to release masked characters or will unmask previously masked characters the moment they become playable
I think that was pretty ballsy of the old team to try and do things differently with Toriga
